Walk away.

So today I started a search for an awesome book to read on the plane for my trip. I didnt want anything too "girly" like Fat Bitch you know one of those secret message go Vegan or die books.( and hell for the record Id like to be a Vegan but I fucking LOVE macaroni and cheese to much..sorry :[) Richard and I began talking and he managed to turn the question around on me, "what books should I read" he said. Hahah I told him that didnt answer my question at all, and no where we sit internet to internet stumped as to a book for this journey. He then sent me a post about books on the beloved Nj Scene Board and I swear to god if I was ever a member of that thing Id probably become like the Misfits TV casualty haha. Their was one post a kid wrote about a book caled The Freedom Manifesto by Tom Hodgkinson. Hodgkinson wrote How to be Idle a book about basically no longer giving a fuck and the art of napping haha. Id always wanted to read it because just hearing the reviews my Existential radar kicked in that this book was somehow in relation to all things I know at love. However.. I know how to nap already and Im pretty self actualized so I didnt need a self help book so much. But The Freedom Manifesto is about how to act on these already realized motives. Which is something I do need ALOT OF FUCKING HELP doing. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and know how to get there... but Id rather just sit on the couch and eat vegan cup cakes from Atlas. Thus I went to Barnes and Noble today and picked up a copy and began to read it on the train.

Already by the 2nd page I could tell this was a totally existential book at Hodgkinson leads readers into the ideals of such a life VERY well. Its not smacking it in your face calling you dumb if you dont already know, but baby steping you into a better life with a little punch. I cant wait to read the rest of it on the plane I know if I keep reading it now Ill be done with it by Thursday and will have nothing to read!
