The Blonde Period

After getting into two conversations in the past week about what my "type" is with two of my very closest girlfriends. I realized that this year Ive dated nothing but blonde haired blue eyed boys..haha Nazi much? Which is far from my black/brown haired hazel eyes dream boat normally standings. I find change to be good..gotta love change.

Life day to day update:

This weekend in philly was retarded. I love Blur and love the enjoy I get from hanging out with her. We got so drunk..SO DRUNK. But yet only paid for two drinks? Had fantastic thai food, awesome brunch and just ran around like jackasses.

Sunday night when I returned home I went to see Pineapple Express with Greg, my bestie. Which was the best movie ever. Later after the movie Greg got a call from Jimbos dad... Hes apparently AWAKE! AND KNOWS WHO EVERYONE IS! AND IS DOING AWESOME! Im so excited, though Im not that close with him the look on Gregs face made me want to cry he was so stoked..Im so happy hes okay.

Later I saw Brett Jerk he was having a party for Mike Chins birthday so I went to hang out. Bretts moving to Africa in November to teach ESL which is so crazy and like him...haha dick..

I had to this week install a hardcore combo lock on my apartment door. Because someone has been getting drunk and going into peoples rooms in our apartment. Fucking annoying. I cant wait for this month to be over, and I can just live in peace..yes..peace.

Today I went to the beach for the first time during the day in 2 years haha..I was blasting 50 on myself every 30 minutes..Im so sick.

And now a fun little story....

My grandmother never had much...she worked hard so hard infact she couldnt take care of her own children. Nina the eldiest stayed with my grandmother to help her with my sick and dying grandfather. My mother, Renee, and her sister Valerie went to live with their grandmother and gand aunts.

My great aunts were straight off the boat from Italy from a small gypsy village outside of Rome. When I was in Rome we tried to find it, but back then a village was like two manhattan blocks so eventually they all merged together to form one large town. Their were five of them, all in their late 70's and 80's. Their three brothers all died in WWII along with all of their husbands. Together they all lived, doing house work, cleaning, mowing the lawn everything you could imagine. Just 5 really old ladies widowed and living in a house together. They always made my mother and aunt work hard around the house. They were never aloud to spoil their supper and my great grandmother and great aunts would take about 10 asprins a day, to thin their blood so that they wouldnt have heart attacks and all that jazz. They wore their hair in tight bunns and at the end of the day my mother and aunt would brush their hair for them before bed. Huge long horse mains of hair that was then tied in braids and put to sleep.

These women always taught my mother and aunt to never rely on men for anything. That eventually in ones life they would end up in the same situation as they did. Alone, with nothing left but a ticket to another country to start a new life. That as a strong Mariani woman they would have to find resolution in their own lives, and depend on themselves rather then others.

Thus I find it fitting that my aunt is a divorce' and my mother will soon be joining her.

My mom taught me this way too..Thus I also find it fitting that I will be moving to another country in less than 3 years with nothing but myself...oh how we follow so well in the footprints of other great people.
